The Prostate Assistant is a Windows 95 program which has the following
options:
-
a simple lookup in the Partin 1 table (latest data)
-
Partin 2 lookup (includes average velocity calculation)
-
PSA doubling time and average velocity calculations.
-
Optimized microvessel density lookup
Installation Instructions:
- Download one of two zipped file. You can download a smaller
version (which may not work on your computer because of missing
DLLs) or you can download the larger version which
will almost certainly work on all systems. The smaller file is
1.88M and the larger 3.2M. If you don't have pkunzip or
winzip, you will need to download this tool first. You can get pkunzip
here. The downloaded file is named pkzip.zip,
but it is really an executable. You need to rename it to pkzip.exe after
you download it since browsers will typically trash an executable.
-
Create a directory on your desktop by clicking the right mouse button on
a free area of the desk top and selecting "New' and then "Folder." Name
the folder something appropriate like "temp."
-
Unzip the file in the folder you just created.
-
Double click [left button] on the folder and when it opens, double click
[left button] on the program setup. Setup will install the program in the
appropriate area.
-
After the installation is complete, you may delete the 'temp' folder and
its contents.
-
To run the program, you can either create a shortcut on your desktop, or
click on the taskbar "Start" button and select first "Programs" and then
"Pa."
