It is an generous gesture from the club, helping to establish Blue September in its inaugural year in California.
The game will let fans and people everywhere know more about Blue September, raising the awareness of this cause and helping encourage people to ‘face up to prostate cancer’.
The cause is one close to the heart of the Oakland Raiders, with favorite son and NFL legend Jim Otto, the former Oakland Raiders center, a prostate cancer survivor himself. This year he is one of the celebrity ambassadors ‘getting blue’ to support the cause and encourage others to face up to prostate cancer and take preventative action by going to get a checkup. In its first year in America, Blue September is proudly supporting The Prostate Cancer Research Institute, with all funds raised being donated to the charity. Ultimately, Blue September is about changing attitudes and behaviors towards prostate cancer whilst raising funds for The Prostate Cancer Research Institute.
